For hundreds of years, banking was a local trade. If you needed a place to put your money, you went and saw your local banker. If you needed a loan, you went and saw your local banker.
Then, in the late 1980's and early 1990’s many of these local banks were gobbled up by large corporate organizations. The local service and the community connection were gone. Illinois National Bank, with over 100 years of history, was gone.
Then, customers began complaining that their friendly local banker had been replaced by long-winded policy statements, new fees, and a toll free number with completely automated voice prompts.
It was then that a group of local investors and former Illinois National Bank employees set about forming a new, locally-owned financial institution. Illinois National Bank (INB) opened its doors for the second time on June 21, 1999.
Upon INB's return from the corporate banking malaise, we promised to bring back the traditional high level of banking service, and that local banker.
Today, Illinois National Bank provides a full range of traditional banking services to individuals and businesses, including personal, commercial and retail banking, trust and brokerage, cash management, Internet banking and remittance processing...and, we do it all with a smile.
Under the leadership of Richard K. McCord, James V. Antonacci and the late Linda Culver, Illinois National Bank has grown to nearly $500 million in assets.
Since it’s return, INB has quietly grown into one of Central Illinois' largest banks, and one of the nation’s most progressive institutions. In fact, INB was named a 2007 Community Service Bank of the Year by the Illinois Bankers Association! Bank with the people that give back. Choose INB.
Illinois National Bank proves that when tradition meets financial innovation, great things will happen.
